Livestock Judging Contest
CONTEST INFORMATION
Wednesday, April 1st
LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST: Pre-registration and payment completed via JudgingCard.com prior to March 20th is strongly encouraged for accurate student contestant counts. Teams registering and paying the day of the contest will incur a fee of $100 per team and $30.00 for individuals. Check-in will begin at 7:00 a.m. at the NEO Indoor Arena; contest will begin promptly at 8:30a.m.
Divisions: Junior 4-H (13 & under)
Senior 4-H (14 & up)
Junior FFA (8th-10th grade)
Senior FFA (any student currently enrolled in FFA)
Classes: The contest will consist of cattle classes, hog classes, sheep classes, goat classes,
and oral reasons.
Performance data will be provided on designated class(es).
Teams: Will consist of 4 members; individuals will be allowed to compete, as well.
There is NO limit on the number of teams from school or county.
Top three individual scores will be used to determine team score.
Reasons: Junior 4-H contestants will give 2 sets of oral reasons, and Senior 4-H, Junior FFA, and Senior FFA will give 4 sets of oral reasons.
Reasons’ locations will be disclosed on the day of the contest.
Coaches are encouraged to wait for their students at the designated reasons’ locations at the conclusion of the contest.
Awards will be given at the NEO Indoor Arena as soon as possible after contest completion.
Classes will become available after the completion of reasons to enhance the teaching opportunity of the contest.
Pre-Registration Entry Fee: $50.00 per team and $15.00 for individuals.
Scantrons will be provided.
Lunch WILL be provided thanks to Piguet’s Primetime!
