Carl C. Anderson Innovator Awards

This endowment gift graciously provided to the Oklahoma FFA Foundation by the Anderson family in memory of their father Carl Anderson, Oklahoma native, entrepreneur and innovator at its inception will create at least a $30,000 scholarship or Operating Capital Grant for transformational and innovative FFA members in the areas of State Star Farmer, State Star in Agribusiness, State Star in Agricultural Placement and State Star in Agriscience. The Carl C. Anderson Innovator Awards will have its inaugural introduction at the 2022 Oklahoma State FFA Convention. These awards derived from the Carl C. Anderson Trust will continue to increase in value over the coming years. It is our donors desire to support the Oklahoma FFA State Stars as future innovators and entrepreneurs in the field of Agriculture.

“Not only did Carl Anderson have great success in the business world, he was also a man who changed the industries in which he worked; he helped improve the tools, machinery, and methods used in trucking, hauling, drilling, pipeline construction, and ranching.”  ~A Biography of Carl C. Anderson, Sr.

Scholarship Program
The goal of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation is to provide a $1,000 continuing education scholarship to the state winner in every area of Proficiency awards, Career Development Event high individuals and Leadership Development Event winners. Although we have made significant progress over the past few years, there are still many areas unfunded. The complete list of scholarships needed is found in the Sponsorship Opportunities list under the Support page. We also provide scholarships for the Ag-Ed Teaching Academy held at OSU each summer and for selected students to attend the Washington Leadership Conference.

Scholarship sponsors are greatly appreciated and recognized at the State FFA Convention at a meal function (proficiency, CDE and LDE scholarships) or on stage as they make the scholarship presentation (for ag-ed teaching academy or WLC scholarships).

Students who have earned an award area scholarship may request the funds after their high school graduation and once enrolled in a program at the University or technical school of their choice. Students have until they are 25 years of age or seven years past their high school graduation date to request their scholarship. The student's school ID number, bursar address and enrollment schedule is required in August or December for scholarship disbursement. Half of the scholarship is paid to the student's school upon first request and the second half may be requested for payment directly to the student once the Foundation has received a current transcript and proof of enrollment for the next semester.

Leadership Intern Program
The OK FFA Foundation Leadership Intern Program is designed to allow high school FFA members the opportunity to observe firsthand the development and management techniques used to construct and facilitate the Oklahoma FFA Convention experience. They will also have responsibilities representing the Foundation with sponsors and special guests throughout the convention and serving in the Foundation booth in the Career Fair. There may also be opportunities for the Foundation interns to represent the Association at special events throughout the school year. These are not required events.

Four (two boys and two girls) high school juniors will be selected from FFA Chapters across the state. These four FFA members will report to the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City on Monday and will complete the program on Wednesday evening.

AMBASSADORS - Additional applicants may be selected to serve as "Ambassadors" at the convention to escort sponsors and special guests. These students will meet early Tuesday morning for orientation and will serve for a single day (or 3 sessions). Their lunch for their day of service will be complimentary.

Blue Jacket Program
The Oklahoma FFA Foundation “Blue Jacket Program” is designed to provide 8th, 9th, and 10th grade FFA members the opportunity to earn their first FFA jacket. SandRidge Energy Corporation, Express Pros/Robert Funk, the FFA Foundation Presidents Club, and Dr. and Mrs. Nels Peterson will provide FFA jackets to deserving FFA members across the state. The intent of the program is to seek applications from students who might not be able to afford an FFA jacket other than one offered through the Blue Jacket program.
